Assist. Professor M. P. Ivelja, MD, PhD, is an infectious disease specialist, Assistant Director for Quality and Head of the Infectious Diseases Department at University Hospital of Split, and Head of the Department of ID at the University of Split School of Medicine. Alongside her clinical practice, she is actively involved in medical education, scientific research projects, and the development of professional programs in the field of infectious diseases.
She earned her PhD in the field of viral hepatitis and is the author of numerous scientific and professional publications in international peer-reviewed journals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she played a key role in organizing and leading the care of COVID-19 patients at University Hospital of Split.
Her professional work integrates clinical excellence, academic leadership, and healthcare management, with a particular focus on quality and patient safety, as well as advancing the organization and standards of healthcare delivery.
