Despite the knowledge, capital, and technology at our disposal, our cities are becoming increasingly unaffordable due to slow planning processes, untapped development potential, and the insufficient alignment of investment with the public interest. Drawing on examples from Rovinj and railway-oriented urban development, the presentation explores how architecture, public policy, and capital can work together to create better, more sustainable, and more affordable cities for their residents.
