Vesna Kučan Polak is employed at the Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency as the Director of the Sector for Business Development and New Technologies. The Agency carries out activities of the national hydrogen coordination body as defined by the Renewable Energy Sources and High-Efficiency Cogeneration Act and provides operational support to the Ministry of Economy. It also participates independently as a project partner in several international projects and represents Croatia in the EU and other international institutions. Before joining the Agency in 2022, she worked at INA, focusing primarily on technological development, especially in renewable fuels.

Vesna Kučan Polak holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Technology in Zagreb, where she also earned her master’s degree. She completed a business school program at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and has attended numerous professional trainings in oil industry operations, product quality, and project management.
